Have questions or a project in mind?

Let’s talk about your project and see if working together makes sense.

Affordable Website Design Agencies in Los Angeles That Won’t Waste Your Time

You get three quotes for the same project. One agency says $4,000. One says $18,000. One runs an “affordable web design” landing page and turns out to be headquartered somewhere you’ve never been to, three time zones away.

That last scenario shows up in Los Angeles more than anywhere else Mojo has researched. The metro is so large, and so many firms want a piece of its search volume, that the results page for “LA web design” is a mix of real neighborhood studios, national chains running a rented local address, and offshore shops with a Los Angeles zip code and nothing else here.

Nothing on that page tells you which is which. If you’re running a med spa in Silver Lake, a contracting business out in the Valley, or a small law office downtown, sorting that out by trial and error is a bad use of your time and your first deposit.

Cheap and affordable get treated as synonyms and they aren’t. A $1,500 template nobody finds through search is a bad deal at any price. An $8,000 site that starts generating leads inside a quarter has already paid for itself.

Six agencies made it into this guide because they serve the small and mid-sized business budget and because we could confirm, on their own websites, both what they charge and where they actually operate.

Five more got researched and then cut – not for bad work, but because “Los Angeles web design” turned out to be the headline on a page with no Los Angeles behind it. We name all five below, because in this specific market, knowing who to rule out is worth more than another name to add to your list.

What Does “Affordable” Actually Mean for Web Design in Los Angeles?

$5,000 to $15,000 is the number that gets a genuinely custom site built in this city – designed for your specific business, functional on a phone without extra work, and shipped with the technical SEO groundwork already done, instead of a theme with your logo dropped on top of it.

What that number is actually buying is a result, not a feature list. A $5,000 site that keeps producing qualified leads month after month was money well spent. A $15,000 site that only looks good in a portfolio was not, regardless of what it cost.

Neither direction of the price scale tells you much on its own. A big number is no guarantee of quality, and the lowest quote sitting in your inbox right now is frequently the most expensive purchase you’ll make all year – you just won’t feel that cost until you’re paying someone else to rebuild the thing eighteen months from now.

There’s also a reason LA pricing is harder to read than most other markets: the city is really two industries wearing one skyline. One serves entertainment, tech, and venture-funded companies at rates built for that budget.

The other serves the small businesses that actually make up most of the local economy. Mistake the first for “normal LA pricing” and you’ll talk yourself into a $50,000 quote for what should be a five-page site.

Los Angeles Web Design Pricing Tiers: A Quick Breakdown

None of these boundaries are guesses – every figure below traces back to a real firm’s own pricing page or its own submitted Clutch minimum:

Budget tier, roughly $300 to $2,000

DIY-assisted or template-driven sites, usually with hosting or an ongoing plan bundled in. What you’re buying is a template with your content poured into it; the strategic thinking isn’t part of the package.

Affordable / mid-market, $5,000 to $15,000

This is the band the guide is built around, and it’s where most LA small and mid-sized businesses belong. Expect a real discovery process, a build that’s custom or substantially customized rather than reskinned, mobile optimization that’s actually tested, and the on-page SEO basics done at launch.

Every firm listed below has a figure that lands inside or right up against this range.

Premium, $25,000 to $50,000

Bigger studios, dedicated account teams, deeper portfolios. Los Angeles-based Weberous has a $25,000 project floor on its Clutch profile, and fellow LA firm Black Flag Creative says right on its own site that work with them “typically start[s] at $50,000.” This tier fits a growth-stage company with real functional complexity – it’s overkill for a first small-business build.

Enterprise, $75,000 and up

The territory of major creative agencies and full platform builds. San Jose’s Baunfire lists a $75,000 minimum on Clutch. Anyone reading a guide titled “affordable” can safely skip this tier entirely.

How We Evaluated These Agencies

A high search ranking and a place on this list measure two different things. Type this phrase in and most of what surfaces is either paid directory placement or an agency’s own page built around the keyword – neither one tells you what a project actually runs, and in a market this spread out, neither one confirms the firm is even physically here.

The screening criteria

  • A genuine custom build. If the starting point is a theme, it’s not a custom result no matter what the invoice calls it – and template-only operations were excluded on that basis alone.
  • A findable number. Either the firm posts its own rates, or its own Clutch profile states a project floor. A site that only offers “contact us for pricing” was passed over.
  • Reviews the firm doesn’t control. Feedback on a third-party platform, not testimonials curated on the agency’s own homepage.
  • Actual roots in Los Angeles. A real office, a client base in the area, or documented regional work – not just a page targeting the keyword. Five candidates failed exactly this test and were removed.
  • A plan for after launch. Ongoing maintenance, hosting, and optimization actually offered, not just implied.
  • Portfolio work with outcomes attached. Specific projects with a result stated, not a gallery of screenshots.

Four firms with a real Los Angeles presence still got cut, simply because their own pricing prices this guide’s reader out: Weberous (a $25,000 floor, its own Clutch profile), 500 Designs ($25,000 floor, based in Irvine out in Orange County), LLT Group ($25,000 floor; its own site lists Los Angeles alongside Chicago and New York as one of its three studio cities), and Black Flag Creative, which states on its own site that projects “typically start at $50,000.”

Every number here came straight from the firm’s own site or its own Clutch submission, read in August 2026. None of these are bad agencies – they’re simply built for a bigger budget than a first small-business site needs.

We also dropped five agencies that rank for Los Angeles web design searches but are not Los Angeles firms, and this took more digging than we expected for a single city.

Thrive Internet Marketing Agency is headquartered in Arlington, Texas, and runs a Los Angeles landing page nationally – the same firm shows up in nearly every major city’s search results. UPQODE is headquartered in Nashville and does the same thing; this is the second Mojo market guide to catch it doing it.

Mandy Web Design’s own site lists its registered address in Punjab, India, underneath a page titled for Los Angeles. Astriden turned up in our research for LA pricing, and its own site says it was founded in Santa Cruz and serves the San Francisco Bay Area – it never claims Los Angeles anywhere on its own pages.

Storm Brain ranks in Clutch’s Los Angeles listings, and its own site names its corporate headquarters as Carlsbad, California, ninety miles south in San Diego County. A city landing page is not a city office, and in this market that distinction did more work than any other single filter we applied.

The Best Affordable Website Design Agencies in Los Angeles Right Now

1. Mojo Media

Mojo Media is an award-winning boutique studio that builds custom websites for owner-led businesses across North America, and its typical project – $5,000 to $15,000 – sits squarely inside the range this guide is built around.

The dollar figure matters less than the process behind it. No project opens in a design tool – discovery comes first, every time, and what gets built afterward is drawn specifically for that client rather than pulled from a theme library and reskinned.

The numbers Mojo tracks back this up: client sites see 40% of revenue attributed to the website on average, a 57% drop in bounce rate, and 61% year-over-year growth in organic traffic. Its Clutch profile, checked directly in August 2026, shows a 5.0 rating across 54 verified reviews and Premier Verified status.

None of that changes for a Los Angeles client. Discovery and original design work happen before a line of the actual WordPress build starts, and every launch ships with the on-page basics handled – a heading structure that makes sense, alt text that’s actually written, and the technical groundwork a site needs just to be competitive.

Clients who want more can add ongoing SEO work, and hosting and maintenance is available to keep the site running afterward. For anyone without someone in-house to write it, copywriting is on the table too.

Before reaching out, it’s worth browsing the portfolio and reading through the team’s own account of its process.

Specialization: Custom WordPress development, brand identity, search

Typical project: $5,000 to $15,000

Best for: Owner-led businesses looking for a long-term partner, not a template assembler

2. CodeVix

CodeVix Landing Page | Affordable Website Design Agencies in Los Angeles

CodeVix is headquartered in Los Angeles, with additional development offices in Skopje, North Macedonia and Plovdiv, Bulgaria – disclosed openly on its own site rather than buried. The firm states more than ten years of experience in web design, development, UI/UX and custom web solutions, and its client logos on its own homepage are small-business scale, not enterprise names.

What separates CodeVix from most of this list is that it publishes an actual tiered price table on its own pricing page, rather than a single floor.

A small-business site running five to ten pages, custom-designed, lands at $3,000 to $6,000. A larger custom build – ten to thirty pages with a full custom design and CMS – runs $6,000 to $15,000. Ecommerce work, with a product catalog and secure checkout, is quoted separately at $8,000 to $25,000.

That’s three genuine reference points rather than one vague minimum, and it means you can place your own project on the table before you ever make contact.

The dual-location structure is worth naming plainly rather than glossing over: the LA office handles the client relationship, and development work draws on the Eastern European offices. That’s a common structure for firms trying to hold small-business pricing while still delivering custom work, and it’s disclosed on their own site rather than something you’d have to dig for.

Specialization: Custom web design and development, published tiered pricing

Project range: $3,000 to $6,000 (small business, 5-10 pages) · $6,000 to $15,000 (custom, 10-30 pages) · $8,000 to $25,000 (ecommerce)

Best for: Businesses that want to see exactly where their project lands on a real price table before calling

3. Ready Artwork

Ready Artwork Landing Page | Affordable Website Design Agencies in Los Angeles

Ready Artwork has operated in the Los Angeles area since 2003, based in Monrovia in the San Gabriel Valley rather than downtown LA proper.

It describes itself as a full-service B2B digital marketing agency covering SEO, website development and paid search, and it carries DBE, SBE and DGS certifications – small and disadvantaged business designations that matter if you’re bidding on public-sector or enterprise vendor work and need a certified partner.

Pricing is published two ways. The firm’s own site carries structured pricing data stating “$2,500 and up,” and its Clutch profile – submitted by the firm itself – lists a $5,000 minimum project size with an hourly rate of $200 to $300.

Read those as two different scopes rather than a contradiction: $2,500 likely covers a lighter engagement, while $5,000 and up is the more typical custom project floor. Confirm which applies to your scope directly.

Two decades of continuous operation in one region is a genuine signal in an industry where studios open and close constantly, and the certifications are a real differentiator for the specific buyer who needs them.

Specialization: B2B digital marketing, website development, SEO, paid search

Established: 2003, Monrovia, CA (San Gabriel Valley)

Project range: “$2,500 and up” (own site) · $5,000 minimum, $200-$300/hr (Clutch, self-submitted)

Suits: B2B companies, and any business that specifically needs a DBE/SBE/DGS-certified vendor

4. Webment Digital

Webment Digital Landing Page | Affordable Website Design Agencies in Los Angeles

Webment Digital identifies Los Angeles as its base – its own site’s structured data places it at downtown LA’s coordinates – while also serving clients in Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, Fresno and Bakersfield.

That’s a real, if broad, service footprint rather than a single-city storefront, and it’s worth knowing going in if a strictly local relationship matters to you.

The pricing is the most transparent of anyone on this list who publishes a full table rather than a single floor. Three tiers, all stated as fully custom with no templates: a Starter package at $1,500 for a five-page site, a Growth package at $3,500 for ten pages, and a Pro package at $6,500 and up for twenty-plus pages with animation and a blog.

The firm states no long-term contracts and no hidden fees across the board.

The Starter tier sits below this guide’s affordable floor, and it’s here for the same reason Boomcycle’s low end appeared in Mojo’s San Francisco guide: naming the full range, including where it starts, is more honest than only showing the middle of it. For most small businesses reading this guide, the Growth or Pro tier is the relevant comparison point.

Specialization: Web design, development and SEO, published three-tier pricing

Project range: $1,500 (Starter, 5pg) · $3,500 (Growth, 10pg) · $6,500+ (Pro, 20+pg)

Best for: Businesses that want an exact number before they open a conversation, and don’t need a strictly single-city firm

Website: webmentdigital.com

5. NuvelloWeb

NuvelloWeb Landing Page | Affordable Website Design Agencies in Los Angeles

NuvelloWeb describes itself on its own site as a small, founder-led Los Angeles studio covering web design, SEO, e-commerce and digital marketing. It’s the smallest operation on this list by self-description, which cuts in a specific direction: less capacity for a large, multi-workstream project, and a better chance you’re dealing directly with the person who owns the outcome.

The studio doesn’t publish its own pricing, so treat any number as something to confirm directly rather than plan around in advance.

What it does publish is a detailed breakdown of what Los Angeles website projects actually cost across the market – DIY and template builds from $300 to $2,000, a professional marketing site from $3,000 to $8,000, and a more custom build with integrations from $8,000 to $20,000.

That’s the kind of market analysis most agencies don’t bother publishing, and it’s a reasonable signal of how the firm itself thinks about scoping a project.

Specialization: Web design, SEO, digital marketing

Positioning: Small, founder-led Los Angeles studio

Rates: Not published; publishes its own market cost analysis instead

Suits: Businesses that want a direct relationship with a small studio, and are comfortable getting a quote on a call

6. Mad Mind Studios

Mad Mind Studios Landing Page | Affordable Website Design Agencies in Los Angeles

Mad Mind Studios has operated in Los Angeles since 2008, per its own site, covering web design and search visibility work. Nearly two decades of continuous operation in one market is a real signal, on par with Ready Artwork’s tenure elsewhere on this list.

Rates aren’t published on the site, and no independent review count or team size figure was found on the pages checked for this guide – both worth asking about directly before you get deep into a conversation.

What the firm has in its favor is longevity in a market where a lot of shops don’t make it past a few years, which at minimum means a large body of completed, checkable work to ask for.

Specialization: Web design, search visibility

Established: 2008, Los Angeles

Rates: Not published; ask directly, and ask for review references given none were found independently

Suits: Businesses that weight longevity heavily and are willing to do the reference-checking themselves

Red Flags to Watch for When Hiring an “Affordable” Los Angeles Web Design Agency

Signs You’re Getting Cheap, Not Affordable

  • A landing page with no local office behind it. This is the single biggest risk in this specific market, more than in most cities Mojo has covered. Ask directly where the team sits, and ask for a real address – not a suite number that turns out to be a mail-forwarding service. Five firms in our own research were ranked for “Los Angeles web design” while being based in Texas, Punjab, or ninety miles down the coast.
  • “Custom” work that’s actually a modified theme. Plenty of agencies use the word loosely. Ask directly: does this design start as a blank page, or as a purchased theme someone edits? There’s no wrong answer at every budget level, but a dodge instead of a direct answer tells you something real.
  • Mockups before a single question about the business. A firm worth hiring wants to know who your customer is, what makes them act, and what this site needs to accomplish in a year – before anyone opens a design tool. Skip that step and you get something that looks nice and argues for nothing.
  • A price that can’t cover what’s promised. Real mobile performance and actual SEO groundwork have a cost floor, and a quote well under it means one of three things: it’s a template underneath, the work is getting handed off overseas in a way that will slow communication, or there’s an upsell coming once you’ve committed.
  • Portfolio work you can’t actually visit. Screenshots alone don’t prove much. Ask for a specific site, still live, that you can open yourself – and a number attached to what it achieved, not just praise for how it looks.
  • Nothing planned past launch day. A finished site with no maintenance arrangement is a problem waiting to happen. Ask now what the plan is for the day, a few months in, that a plugin update quietly breaks your contact form.

Making Your Los Angeles Web Design Budget Go Further

Nothing you can do moves the needle more, or costs less, than showing up to that first call already knowing what the site needs to accomplish.

A vague question gets a defensive, padded quote – “we want a new website” is a blank check nobody wants to write a tight number against. Something specific, like “our services pages get traffic but it doesn’t convert, and the site takes four seconds to load on a phone,” gets you a number built around an actual problem.

Get your copy together before kickoff, or plan honestly for the agency to write it. More projects stall on missing content than on anything else, and every week a finished build sits waiting on your paragraphs is a week you’re paying for and not launching.

Fewer pages, done properly, beats more pages done thinly. Eight pages built with intent will out-convert a rambling twenty-five-page site at the identical budget, because the spend concentrates on what actually moves a visitor instead of spreading across pages nobody reads.

Put the after-launch terms in writing before you sign anything. Hosting, maintenance, security patches, and the process for a simple text edit are ongoing real costs – and learning about them for the first time at handover is one of the most predictable, avoidable frustrations in this whole process.

And in this market specifically: confirm where the team actually is before you sign anything. It changes nothing about whether the work is good, but it changes everything about what “local support” and “we understand this market” are actually worth.

Frequently Asked Questions About Affordable Web Design in Los Angeles

It varies more here than in most cities, because two separate markets share one metro.

Template and DIY-adjacent builds run $300 to $2,000. Most small businesses belong in the $5,000 to $15,000 band, where a site is actually built for you rather than assembled from parts. LA’s premium studios open at $25,000, and the tier serving entertainment and venture-backed clients starts around $50,000 and climbs well past $75,000.

The question that sorts you into one tier or another: how much of your actual revenue is going to come through this site?

In some cases, yes – both CodeVix and Webment Digital publish entry-level tiers in the $1,500-to-$6,000 range for smaller custom projects.

What changes at that price is scope: fewer pages, a shorter discovery phase, or a business model that spreads cost across more clients rather than one ongoing retainer. What you won’t get down there is a full strategic build with real SEO work behind a larger site.

Any agency quoting a multi-page “custom” site under roughly $3,000 deserves a direct question about what custom actually means to them.

Because it isn’t really one market – it’s two occupying the same zip codes. One serves entertainment, tech, and venture-funded companies who can absorb agency rates built for that world. The other serves the small businesses that make up the actual bulk of LA’s economy.

A search results page or a directory listing rarely distinguishes the two. Reading a firm’s own site, and specifically who its clients actually are, usually does.

No, not strictly – but understand the tradeoff either way. A local team makes in-person meetings easy and tends to already understand your competitors and this specific market. A remote agency opens up more options, sometimes at a better rate.

What actually correlates with a good outcome is a clear process, agencies that respond when you reach out, and work you can verify yourself – the city on their business card matters less than any of that.

One specific thing to watch for here: a firm advertising an LA address while actually operating from somewhere else entirely. This guide’s own research turned that up five separate times.

In the $5,000-to-$15,000 range, you should get an actual discovery process, a design built for your business rather than a theme with new branding, development that’s genuinely responsive on mobile, on-page SEO fundamentals like proper heading structure and alt text, and a stated plan for after launch.

Copywriting and photography are often quoted as add-ons, so confirm that upfront. A proposal that skips discovery entirely at this price point is the biggest warning sign to watch for.

For a small-business site built from scratch, six to eight weeks from kickoff to launch is typical. Simpler sites finish faster; ecommerce or custom functionality stretches it out. By far the most common thing that pushes a launch date is content that isn’t ready – have your copy and images finalized before the project starts if the timeline matters to you.
